Abuelita’s Best Dishes: Chicharrón en salsa verde o roja and Abondiga Soup

Everyone, get the excitement flowing! Abuelita is announcing her first dish that she is bringing to Taqueros. And because this is the first week, we are bringing two dishes!

1. Chicharrón en Salsa Verde o Roja (Fried Pork Rinds in Green or Red Salsa)

Chicharrón en Salsa Verde o Roja is a simple, but extremely popular dish found in Mexico. This dish can be enjoyed by itself, but also be enjoyed in combination with chips or tacos! A relatively simple menu item, it is exactly what it sounds like. It combines everyone’s favorite Pork Rinds and coats it with a warm blended sauce, either red or green.

Definitely a favorite for our family and we are super excited to share it with you!

2. Abondiga Soup (Spicy Mexican Meatball Soup)

Another traditional favorite among not only our family, but also many Mexican families, is the abondia soup. Its especially perfect for this cold weather that we’ve been dealing with. The soup is packed with traditional flavors including cumin, oregeno, cilantro, but really what makes this soup come together is the meatballs. The meatballs are usually made with chicken or beef and then combined with rice.

This dish is definitely a comfort food for many families and we’re glad to bring some comfort to you as well!
